I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) and I earned my Master's degree in Social Work from Boston University in May 2024. I am completing my Master's degree in Public Health and will receive it in May 2025. I have experience working with teenagers with substance use and co-occurring trauma, children ages 4-17 with a range of support needs, and adults in an inpatient hospital setting. Prior to becoming a social worker I worked in graduate medical education, educational travel, and a performing arts non-profit. My work experiences has helped me become the clinician I am today, and I draw from many parts of my background when working with clients.

What is a typical first session like with you?

Your first session with me is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, it's just as much an opportunity for you to ask questions as it is for me. We will talk for a bit about what brought you to the Artful Life, and what you're hoping to get out of the therapeutic process. I will give you a brief tour of the studio so that you can get a better idea of what kinds of artistic mediums are available and so that I can learn more about your artistic interests and passions. We will also go over what experiences you've had with therapy in the past, and discuss what worked and didn't work for you about those experiences.

What are some of your favorite approaches?

I practice person-centered therapy with a focus on techniques that address the connection between external and internal factors on your mental health. Some of the interventions I use include collaborative art projects (expressive arts), improv (drama therapy), externalizing the problem (narrative therapy), and looking at how systemic and cultural beliefs impact your mental health (liberation health model). You are the expert of your own experience, my goal in working with you is to best support you with techniques and interventions that work with your strengths and goals.

What is a fun fact about yourself?
