We offer family therapy for all family configurations across the North Shore — helping families communicate more clearly, connect more deeply, and navigate what's hard together.

When we feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck, it often moves through the household, our relationships, and daily life.
Family therapy brings your people into the room together. Not to assign blame, but to understand what's actually happening beneath the surface and build new ways of communicating, connecting, and showing up for each other.
At The Artful Life, family therapy is available for all configurations of your family system: parents and children, blended families, adult siblings, or couples. Without a neutral space to do this work, families often stay stuck in the same cycles.
What family therapy tends to make possible:
That depends on what you're working through. Family therapy at The Artful Life is available for all family configurations: parents and children, co-parents, blended families, adult siblings, and couples navigating challenges as part of a broader family system. Some sessions include everyone. Others focus on a specific relationship within the family. Your therapist will help determine who should be in the room and when, based on what serves the work best.
Not exactly. Couples therapy focuses specifically on a romantic partnership. Family therapy addresses the broader family system, which can include couples, but also parents and children, siblings, blended families, and other significant relationships. If you're primarily seeking support for a romantic or non-familial relationship, our Relationship Therapy may be a better fit.
Yes. While having everyone involved is ideal, meaningful progress can still happen when some family members engage and others don't. Your therapist can work with whoever is willing to show up and help shift dynamics from there.
Family therapy at The Artful Life draws on evidence-based frameworks like IFS, CBT, and DBT alongside creative and expressive approaches where they fit. For families with younger children, Play Therapy and Creative Arts Therapy can be woven in to help kids participate in ways that feel natural to them.
