The Artful Life Counseling Center and Studio is more than a workplace, it’s a community of like-minded individuals who are committed to creative expression, social justice, and destigmatizing mental health.

With two offices located in Beverly and Salem, MA our staff of 40+ licensed clinicians serve adults, teens, kids, and their families across a wide range of modalities and programs — from individual therapy and parent support sessions, to group activities and specialty offerings like EMDR and KAP.

The Artful Life is a locally owned, women-led counseling center and studio with a heart-centered, creative approach to mental health care. While many practices are shifting toward large, corporate-run models, we stay rooted in our community, offering personalized care in a welcoming, vibrant environment. We’re more than just a workplace—we’re a group of like-minded clinicians who value collaboration, connection, and the transformative power of creativity in therapy.

What you bring:

A passion for working with adults, teens, and children — helping them navigate their emotions, build confidence, and express themselves creatively through therapy. If you love the idea of making a real impact in young lives, you'll thrive here! Note: due to high demand, approx. 75% of caseloads will be with children to start.

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in counseling, social work, or a related field.
  • Licensed, provisionally licensed, or working toward licensure in Massachusetts.
  • The ability to maintain a part-time caseload of 18 client sessions per week or a full-time caseload of 25 client sessions per week, ensuring meaningful connections with clients.
  • A passion for expressive arts therapy—or an openness to learning new, creative approaches (we’ll provide training!).
  • A commitment to inclusivity, you must be anti-racist, equity-minded, and willing to engage in ongoing learning.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative spirit to contribute to our supportive team environment.

Preferred but Not Required:

  • Experience in independent practice or outpatient community mental health.
  • Expertise in a niche area (e.g., EMDR, IFS, trauma, anxiety, grief, play therapy, etc.).
