Art Therapy Center

Creative arts therapy for all ages

We offer creative, evidence-based therapy for adults, teens, and children of all ages across the North Shore — at our Beverly and Salem studios, and via telehealth. Whatever you're carrying, there is a therapist here for you. The Artful Life is a fully inclusive, LGBTQIA+ affirming practice welcoming clients of all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences.

Adults

Adults ages 25+ years old

You've been getting through your days, keeping up with responsibilities, showing up for the people who need you. But internally something feels more complicated than that. Art therapy for adults offers a different way in. One that works with your entire, whole self, not just the part that can find the words. We're here to support every adult with:

  • Anxiety, depression, and burnout
  • Trauma and life transitions
  • Grief, loss, and relationship challenges
  • Stress and the pressure to constantly keep up
  • Feeling stuck even after trying therapy before

Emerging Adults

Young Adults 18–24 years old

This stage of life comes with its own particular weight. You're balancing school, work, relationships, and everyone's expectations while quietly asking the same questions: Where do I fit? Am I doing this right? Why does this feel harder than it should?

  • Identity exploration and figuring out who you are
  • Academic pressure and career uncertainty
  • Social struggles and loneliness
  • Anxiety and burnout masked by staying busy
  • Navigating independence while still needing support

Teens

Teenagers 13–17 years old

Teenagers carry more than most people realize, and they're often carrying it quietly. Most aren't going to sit across from a stranger and talk about their feelings on demand. Art therapy gives them another language to work with — one that feels less pressured, less clinical, and more like them.

  • Anxiety, depression, and mood challenges
  • School stress, academic pressure, and school refusal
  • Bullying, social struggles, and self-esteem
  • Identity development and self-discovery
  • Family changes and difficult home dynamics

Children

Kids 3–12 years old

Children communicate through play and creativity long before they have words for what they feel. Art therapy for kids meets them in that natural language — using drawing, painting, movement, music, storytelling, and play to help children process big emotions, build confidence, and find their footing.

  • Big emotions and emotional dysregulation
  • Behavioral challenges at home or school
  • Social struggles and friendship challenges
  • Family transitions and grief
  • School refusal and anxiety

Parents

Parent Support Sessions

Sometimes it's not just the child who needs support. When your child is struggling, it affects your whole system. Parent Support Sessions give caregivers a space to build real understanding and practical tools that directly support their child — through them.

  • Understanding your child's emotional and behavioral patterns
  • Learning practical tools you can use at home right away
  • Responding with more clarity in high-stress moments
  • Processing the weight of parenting without judgment
