I graduated from Salem State University in May 2024 with my Masters in Counseling (pre-licensed LMHC). I have experience working with teens, young adults, and adults in an outpatient and IOP setting as well as having valuable addictions experience working with methadone and court clients. I pull mainly from CBT, DBT, and mindfulness practices in order to help increase a client's sense of inner self and lay the groundwork for meaningful change. I provide an empathetic, compassionate, and a non-judgemental space for clients to explore what comes up for them in session.
After the intake session, I focus on getting to know my client. What is their story? what do they enjoy? What are some challenges in their life and how can I support them in whatever it is they are going through? I like to start each session with a quick check in: "How's your current mood, why you're feeling this way, and what would you like to do in session today?"
I gravitate towards mindfulness and breath work in order to help regulate the nervous system as well as create awareness in the body. I feel these techniques lay an excellent groundwork for paving the way to change thru more traditional approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
