Natalie Blue (she/her)

LMHC, Co-Owner and Director

Undergraduate Degree - St. Peter’s College
Masters Degree - Lesley University
Specialty/Age Groups Treated - I specialize in working with adults who are navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, and the lasting impact of childhood trauma. Many of my clients are women and members of the LGBTQ+ community who appear high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected inside. I also enjoy working with business owners in a coaching capacity to explore how their inner world impacts their leadership style, as well as supporting helping professionals, creatives, and anyone curious about using talk therapy, expressive arts, and somatic approaches to deepen self-understanding.

  • A typical first session with me starts with a simple but powerful question: “How can I help?” From there, I invite you to tell me the story of what brought you here — not just the facts, but how it feels. As you share, I’ll gently ask questions to help us go deeper together, so I can better understand your inner world and how we can begin to navigate this journey of healing side by side.

  • Some of my favorite approaches include exploring inner parts through Internal Family Systems and building somatic awareness to help you connect with what your body is holding. I often use creative, projective techniques like sandtray therapy to give form to thoughts and feelings that may be hard to put into words — helping us access deeper insight in a gentle, intuitive way.

  • In my former life, I worked in New York for the Children’s Television Workshop developing new educational television and media content for children. Yes, I have actually sat in Big Bird’s nest and been inside Oscar the Grouch’s trash can.

Hi, I’m Natalie Blue. I’m a licensed therapist, expressive arts practitioner, and Co-Founder of The Artful Life Counseling Center in Salem, MA. If you’ve found your way here, I want to start by saying — I see you. Whether you're navigating a major life change, feeling overwhelmed, or simply curious about what healing might look like for you, I’m glad you’re here.

I’ve been a therapist on the North Shore for nearly two decades, working with adults who are ready to explore the deeper layers of their emotional lives. I specialize in trauma-informed care, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and expressive arts therapy — which means I believe in the power of both science and creativity to help us heal. I often say that when we’re stuck in fight or flight, a little psychoeducation can go a long way — anchoring us in something real when everything feels like it’s spinning.

My own path has been shaped by personal transformation. Like many of my clients, I’ve had to unlearn limiting beliefs, confront old wounds, and find the courage to step into my full self. That lived experience deeply informs how I show up as a therapist. I know what it feels like to live with anxiety, to feel unseen, to stay small out of fear. And I also know what it feels like to begin living from a place of worth, abundance, and authenticity.

In our work together, you can expect a collaborative and compassionate space — one that honors both your pain and your potential. I’ll help you explore the parts of you that feel stuck while also making room for joy, creativity, and possibility. Healing isn’t linear, but it is absolutely possible. You don’t have to do it alone.
