  • For a first session, I like to go over how sessions typically look, explain how my approach and perspective interact with what you want to work on, and then focus on getting to know you. I know starting therapy can be daunting, so my goal in early sessions is to support you in feeling welcome and safe. I love hearing about my clients' interests, passions, and goals!

  • Everything I do is person-centered. Honoring my clients' wants, needs, and humanity is what drives my approach to therapy. To me, therapy extends beyond behavioral or cognitive change; it is a personal, transformative process that nurtures healing and self-actualization. This means that, in addition to developing skills and strategies to manage what you are working on, therapy with me incorporates a deeper evaluation of yourself. Many of my approaches focus on recognizing and developing strengths and supporting clients in deepening their connections with their passions. I am someone who believes in the immense power of a story, so I like to use narrative therapy and parts work. I have an appreciation for dialectics and am certified in DBT. One of my favorite things is utilizing client interests as a stage on which therapy occurs!

  • I have spent the past several years working with horses in my spare time.

Hi! My name is Ben. I am a pre-licensed clinician holding a master’s degree in Counseling. I approach therapy with a collaborative, existential perspective, and support clients in developing a deeper understanding of what they find meaningful, what their strengths are, and what they aspire to. I see self-expression as being key to addressing life’s challenges, and I incorporate creativity, humor, and play into my sessions with clients of any age. I believe that therapy doesn’t have to be mundane and tedious. Therapy can be uplifting, invigorating, and even fun!

I work with a wide array of client backgrounds, ages, and diagnoses, and specialize in working with teens and young adults. It is important to me to honor that each client brings their own background, identity, preferences, and voice to therapy, and I am committed to tailoring my approach to each person as an individual. When I'm not in therapist mode, I spend time creating things, cooking, and engaging with music. I also enjoy all things “nerdy.”
